ilovebento's
Besides lovingmyhouse ilovetocook. Not that i'm the second Martha Stewart mind you, i'm more the Bridget Jones type. I came across the Japanese style of lunchboxes called Bento and got totally emotional when reading the meaning of it. A Bento is the condensed physical representation of a mother's love.Wow! So wrapping up two cheese sandwiches and an apple in tin foil as i do isn't enough. So i bought these cute boxes and decided i should try harder!

inspiration
Whenever i'm in need of inspiration i go and visit the site of Lexington. The style of this company is a style i love and it inspires me everytime. I never actually bought something but i think they are going to launch their webshop soon so i might not be able to resist the temptation anymore.Have a lovely weekend!

flags
I like flags. My favourite flags are the American stars and stripes, the British union jack and the Canadian maple leaf. (sorry Holland). One of my latest followers Tedandbunny sells vintage union jack flags on Ebay, i lovethem!
Found some inspiration in the Australian vogue living what to do with these beautifull flags. If only i had more time....

photowall
Today i was inspired again by the blog of Lille Lykke a great blog for mainly Scandinavian inspiration.
I have a little photowall in my kitchen as well. There are some pictures of New York where i organised a photoshoot for a fashion brand and the photographer gave me the originals of the stills he made. Most important though are the collages i made from pictures of my three children. I photocopied some pictures so they were all in black and white, put them in a frame and wrote down their nicknames with charcoal.Everyday i'm reminded of how much i love them and how time flies.

ladies and gentlemen, i got it!
Although lately i've been wondering who ( apart from myself) i'm making this blog for, this post is for my dearest brother. It's to convince him that this painting looks best in my house.
The painting belongs to my mother, it was given to her by a spanish company she worked with for years. It hung in my parents appartement for quite some years but after redecorating it did not fit in anymore, so it ended up somewhere in a dark corner of the guestbedroom.
Because my brother and i like it both so much my mum came up with the idea that it could hang in my house first (for one year) and then it could go (for one year) to his house. So now it's in our house and doesn't it look perfect! To make it feel at home I even theme styled it with books and shells. I'm pretty sure now that when he sees this post he let's me keep it ;-))

ilovemytable
This is the new table. It's an old french table and it's 3.30 mtrs long. Saw it on the internet, fell in love immediately and we went out and bought it.The chairs are from Vincent Sheppard and actually meant for outdoors. I like mixing old and new furniture. I will probably whitewash it a little, but for now i'm still recuperating from carrying it inside.
By the way, the weather was soo nice here today, i had to take this picture of the "sneeuwklokjes" (i don't know the English word). I'm soo looking forward to sitting outside again!
And then something that just made me smile! Have a happy workweek, mine starts tomorrow at 5.15 am.

in search of a new table
Recently we bought new chairs and i really love them. However i can't show them to you yet because my table is now totally wrong (at least i think so ) . So now i need a new table!
Looking on the internet for inspiration i came across pictures of different tables, just wanted to share them with you. The style that always attracts me the most is Pure and simple.I'm looking for a long (max 3 meters) simple (white?) wooden table. Suggestions anyone?

marker dress
Two years ago i saw a picture of this dress and made it for my youngest daughter for a dress up party at school.. Just used some plain white cotton and let the markers do the rest !
Make sure you put the caps back on the markers when wearing the dress!

letterbak
Don't know the the word for it in English (shelving ?), anyway in Dutch we call it a "letterbak", and they are back, big time! Can't wait to make one, so here's my inspiration.

a new cabinet
Bought this old cabinet a few weeks ago and picked it up yesterday. Instead of painting it myself (which i usually do), i decided to let somebody else do the job for a change. It's been painted with chalkpaint (grey/blue) and i'm very happy with the result.
So i moved my furniture from one side to another to give it the space it deserves.

time flies
I'm a sentimental fool i guess. When i saw this beautiful photo from Lola's room photograpy i thought how fast my children are growing up.
So i decided to make this picture of my daughter Britt's old ballet shoes, for sentimental reasons. She's a tough soccerplayer now.

the best things in life are free
This vase had been standing in a farmer's yard since years, my mum asked if she could have it and then gave it to me. When the sun hit it this morning i took this photo. The best things in life are free.

croissants
Today i brought my daughter early to Amsterdam, where i found myself stuck in a trafficjam (what else is new?) behind this great car...
After dropping her off i went to my favorite Maroccan bakery...
Where i bought too many delicious things...
Arriving at home i took out my favourite Royal Canadian Mounted police plate ( only for special occasions) and enjoyed the best croissant ever!
